Weekly Easy Rejuvenating Exercise: 

Mindful Eating (2 minutes)

Connecting spiritually with gratitude and appreciation have a positive effect on how you digest and process your food. On a physical level, gratitude and appreciation help to relax the body, helping your digestive system to work more efficiently. On an energetic level, gratitude and appreciation help you to receive the nutrients and nourishment from the food.

Here's the 2-minute mindful eating exercise (we go more in-depth with this exercise in the I am a Goddess online program):

1. As you begin your meal, take a moment to reflect on your gratitude for the people you're eating with (even if it's just yourself!). Expressing this gratitude out loud can be very helpful and bonding for the group.

2. Breathe. Yes, I mean it! B r e a t h e deeply and enjoy your breath. Every breath is a gift. Feel the way deep breaths energize your body. 

3. Admire your food. Even if your plate is filled with food "you shouldn't eat," Admire and appreciate it. What a gift it is to have that food!

Shame* is more toxic than Walmart cake or potato chips, so you might as well feel grateful for the yumminess on your plate <3

4. As you chew your food, taste every bite. Feel the texture on your tongue and your teeth. Keep your food in your mouth as long as possible. This will help you to enjoy your food even more, and assist in the digestion process, and it gives your body long enough to create the necessary components and environment necessary to process what you're specifically eating.

You don't need to do this the whole meal - just two minutes as you begin your meal has the power to improve your relationship with food, and make more empowered food choices. 

*If shame is something that comes up regularly with eating and body image, then the long term solution is to work with the shame and release it. This can be a quick and easy process with the right tools. Once you do the inner work, you'll find your feelings about your body and food naturally improving.
